Many people stress this time of year. Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and of course you will want to find the perfect gift. I have been blessed with a mom who loves Chocolate Gifts.
Do not be fooled by it’s simplicity. The concept of “Chocolate Gifts” can take on many forms. In fact, you can buy almost anything in the form of a chocolate!
One year I sent her a dozen rose shaped Chocolates. She loved it. And the next year I sent her a chocolate mould of her favourite movie star, surrounded by star shaped Chocolate Truffles. That one she froze. I think he still sits in her freezer…waiting. He and his Chocolate Truffles will probably remain there for the duration of my mother’s life. But that’s okay.
It is not without good reason, or absence of creativity that I send her Chocolate Gifts. It is, without question, to thank her, and remind her, that I will never forget her efforts to make my childhood as painless as possible.
To put it bluntly, we were poor. We were very poor.
Every year when Christmas came, we had no tree, no decorations, and no gifts. But I did, however, have a stocking that my mother handcrafted herself, that she would hang on the wall beside the front door. And when Christmas morning came, I was always pleased to find that ‘Santa’ had filled my stocking with Chocolates, Chocolate Gifts, and Chocolate Truffles.
